Get connected, set up your automation, and understand the audio tradeoffs.
Open Mute FSD when you get in the car
- Open Shortcuts on your iPhone and create a Bluetooth automation.
- Choose your car’s Bluetooth device and the connection trigger.
- Add the Open App action and choose Mute FSD.
- Choose Run Immediately, if available, and save.
Automation labels vary by iOS version. Automatic connection is enabled by default in Mute FSD. The automation opens the application; Mute FSD then attempts to activate the HFP connection.
Common questions
How do I start the trial?
Open Mute FSD, complete the introduction, allow microphone access, and activate the free 7-day trial. The trial does not renew or charge automatically. A lifetime unlock is available separately.
Why does the application need microphone access?
Microphone permission activates the HFP (Hands-Free Profile) audio channel. Mute FSD does not listen to or record your conversations.
Why is it still reconnecting?
Check that your iPhone is paired with the car for Bluetooth calls. Mute FSD keeps retrying while automatic connection is enabled. Pausing manually lasts until the next time the application returns to the foreground.
Can I keep listening to music and navigation?
Yes. Your media apps control their own playback. Phone navigation prompts and the Tesla screen’s built-in navigation prompts remain available. HFP reduces media audio quality to mono; car media buttons may not control playback.
What happens when I receive a phone call?
Phone calls take priority. Mute FSD pauses its audio session during a system interruption and attempts to resume afterward when the system allows it and automatic connection is enabled.
Will this work with every vehicle update?
Compatibility depends on the car’s software. Use the trial to verify behavior with your vehicle. Mute FSD does not change FSD driving behavior or safety alerts.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open the purchase screen and select Restore Purchases using the same Apple Account. TestFlight purchases are sandbox tests and are not production App Store purchases.
